There are many old monasteries, castles and ruins, but the town theatre of Grein is absolutely unique and a sight of European significance. It was built into the former granary of the town hall by the citizens of Grein in 1791. It is regarded as the oldest town theatre of Austria that is still in its original condition and it can be visited every day of the week. There are still regular performances in the theatre.

Open daily from May 1 to September 30
Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon and from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Sundays and Holidays from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
